More room
to be yourself.

Meet Orlo, the Jana of understanding.
A little story about being seen.

Step into the story

Inspired by the janas of Sardinian folklore.

A girl the world
didn’t quite understand.

In Orlo’s story, a family is leaving Sardinia. Their daughter feels deeply and experiences the world in ways others don’t always understand.

A Jana has come to know her. When it is time for the girl to leave, she chooses to go too.

She finds a place
in the hem of a coat.

The Jana settles into the girl’s coat, close to her heartbeat. She carries no expectations about who the girl should become. She is there to understand her.

That Jana is Orlo.

03

What am I feeling?
What do I need?

Orlo helps the girl become curious about what her mind and body are saying. A thought, a feeling, an urge to step away. Each can be something to notice and understand.

This is what we mean by self-awareness: noticing your thoughts, feelings and needs.

04

Understanding can
be shared.

In difficult moments, the girl has someone beside her. Someone who listens and makes room for how she feels.

This is co-regulation. We can help each other feel more settled through care, calm responses and a space that feels safe.
