We’re Orlo. A team of scientists, designers and engineers working on new ways to support everyday wellbeing.
Why we’re here
A busy room can be draining. Starting a task can take more effort than others see. Getting through the day can leave little energy for the people and things that matter.
We’re building Orlo with those everyday experiences in mind. Our work brings together science, product design and engineering, with a focus on understanding different minds.
Why I started Orlo

Last year, someone I love attempted suicide.
Then, in October, I started having daytime flashbacks from combat PTSD. Then I was laid off. I had a hard time finding work and doing well in interviews. Then my son died.
My co-founders, Janelle and Todd, were my support system. They have been through loss this year too.
We want to help people with the kind of struggles my family has faced. That includes losing someone, living with trauma, and using drugs or alcohol to cope.
Many of the people I love are neurodivergent, and so am I. Being neurodivergent does not cause a crisis. It can mean the support around you does not fit.
I want to make sure no parent ever gets the calls I have received. I want people who served, like me, to have better everyday support. I want children not to struggle the way I have with my disabilities.

We felt cast aside during this trauma. We came through it together, building something we hope will help people who live with mental health challenges.
Who we are
We are a team with experience at Apple, Bose and Meta. Todd comes from Bose and Jibo. Janelle comes from SchoolAI and Sword Health. I have worked at Adobe, Meta, LG, Bose, Lenovo and Dell.
Our mission
We are on a mission to help everyone understand what their minds and bodies have been telling them all along.
We believe in building for human good. We start with a question, test it and let what we learn guide what we build.
Orlo is not therapy or a medical service. It does not diagnose anything and it does not treat anything.

Janelle Bagozzi
Co-founder · Chief Operating Officer
Janelle built marketing, community and educator programs at SchoolAI and marketing operations at Sword Health. She brings experience connecting teams, customer needs and day-to-day delivery.
Todd Reily
Co-founder · Chief Design & Innovation Officer
Todd led Bose Vision & Futures, developing and testing the open-ear concept that became Ultra Open Earbuds. He previously led user experience and research for Jibo and enterprise smart glasses.
Dave Andrus
Chief Technology Officer
Dave brings wireless engineering experience from Apple and Roku. His work spans wireless design, hardware development and manufacturing, including Wi-Fi integration for the first Roku TVs.
Gina Bullard
Chief Science Officer
Gina is a biochemist with laboratory leadership experience at the University of Montana in Missoula. She brings hands-on research and laboratory operations experience to Orlo’s science strategy.
David Heid
Founding Engineer · VP of Software & Platform Engineering
David brings audio and software engineering experience from Bose and THX, along with work in AI. He led software for Bose S1 and L1 products and leads Orlo’s software and platform engineering.
What we’re working on
We’re developing a health and wellness device. We’re not ready to share the product yet. We plan to share more in spring 2027.
While we build, we share articles and research about our minds, sound and everyday life. We explain what research shows, who it studied and where questions remain.
The story behind Orlo
Orlo is named for a Jana in our story, inspired by the janas of Sardinian folklore. She stays beside a girl who wants to be understood.
This fictional story expresses the care and understanding we want Orlo to stand for.
